As the dust settles on another Farm Safety Week, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to each and every person who took the time to read our blog, voice their opinion, Like & Share our messages and help make this the most successful Farm Safety Week to date.
The team met up at the Livestock Event at NEC last week and there was an overwhelming feeling that we are part of something that is gaining momentum, that change will happen and that there is a real desire in the farming community to address the issue.
Farm Safety Week may be five days of themes but the message should last all year – Don’t learn Safety by Accident. We all have a role to play and the Farm Safety Foundation will continue to engage the young farming community with the support of the NFYFC, SAYFC, Wales YFC and YFCU.
Farmers, and their families, are exposed to numerous health and safety dangers on a daily basis – from tractors, to injuries from falls, machinery and chemicals. With preparation and proper training, these risks can be limited and lives and livelihoods can be saved so let’s keep it going and let’s make it happen!
