FUNDING

Rising concern over the continuing high level of fatal and life-changing accidents on farms prompted leading rural insurer NFU Mutual to set up a charitable foundation in 2014 to help the farmers of the future work safely.

In 2014, NFU Mutual’s board pledged to provide financial support for the Farm Safety Foundation for five years 2014-2018 and have recently agreed to further fund the charity for another three years.

Additional income is raised through fundraising events, donations from individuals and grants from charitable trusts.

Over 52% of the money the Farm Safety Foundation spends every year goes on charitable activities including education. On average we spend 10% on research and a further 21% on communications and governance.
