As we approach the festive season , I am going to resist the temptation to resort to corny puns about ‘Elf & Safety’ but I thought it would be useful to reflect on the past 12 months and what has been achieved in terms of the Farm Safety Foundation and its effect on farm safety.
2015 has been an exciting year for the Foundation. We have made some wonderful friends, travelled right across the UK attending shows, trained over 700 young farmers and we even picked up an award on the way!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our friends at NFYFC, YFCU, Wales YFC and SAYFC, HSE, HSENI, our Farm Safety Ambassadors and the Farm Safety Partnerships of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland for all their support and encouragement this year.
One special note of thanks has to go to NFU Mutual without whose vision, support and financial commitment the Farm Safety Foundation would not exist. Thank you for helping us to grow and support the farmers of the future.
In 2016 our plans are ambitious and we believe we can make a difference but we can not do it alone. This is your industry and we need your support. We must all be determined to change and maintain that determination for the future. Together we can make a difference and change attitudes to health and safety in the farming community. Together, we can ensure a safer future for this great industry.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a SAFE and prosperous New Year!
